Our mission calls for us to reimagine learning, which includes reimagining inequitable systems and structures to create a more socially just world in which students and educators can thrive.

Our history
2011
Ten founding schools launch GOA. Our collective work to reimagine learning begins.
2013
GOA professional learning program begins to coach teachers in modern practices for traditional classroom environments.
2014
Student Program articulates core competencies to drive design and facilitation of courses.
2015
Our summer workshop expands beyond GOA faculty and opens to educators from around the world.
2016
GOA becomes first and only online program to earn NEASC accreditation.
2017
Our 5000th student enrolls in a GOA class to learn applicable and relevant life and learning skills.
2018
Our new mission launches, marking a new beginning for the GOA story as we chart the boundless opportunity ahead in education.
2021
GOA announces an expanded vision to focus on accessible, global, equitable, and high-quality learning for all students and educators.
